Instructions

Mix flour, soda and spices together. Cream sugars, eggs and molasses. Blend mixtures well. Form 1/2 inch balls, roll in sugar, space 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes.

Notes

Margarine must be sticks, 60% oil or better or cookies will not flatten properly.

Best molasses is un-sulfured Penn Dutch-style.

Add 1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger for extra bite.

Add 1/4 tsp white pepper for extra spiciness.
